Clarksburg

Combining the comfort of a small town with a rich history and vibrant culture, Clarksburg offers a safe and welcoming community for everyone. Residents can take part in the variety of programs offered by the Harrison County Recreation Complex, cool off at the Clarksburg Splash Zone, explore the city’s many parks, trails, and golf courses, and take in some live entertainment at the Clarksburg Amphitheater. Richland

Located deep in the heart of the Columbia Valley, and at the junction of the scenic Columbia and Yakima Rivers, the City of Richland, Washington, joins neighboring cities Pasco and Kennewick to form the Tri-Cities area of Washington state. Clinton County

Camarillo

Located an hour north of Los Angeles, Camarillo offers a laid-back lifestyle with small-town charm.

Cleveland

Considered a port city, Cleveland is located in northeastern Ohio, along the southern shore of Lake Erie, at the mouth of the Cuyahoga River. Lake Erie moderates the climate in the region and generally keeps the city cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, while sometimes generating heavy “lake-effect” snow. Warm summers offer plenty of opportunity to spend time on the beaches or the lake, as well as biking or hiking. Winter activities include ice-skating, sledding, and riding toboggan chutes.
 
In addition to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, top Cleveland attractions include visiting the Cleveland Metroparks nature reserve system (dubbed “The Forest City”), Cleveland Museum of Art, West Side Market, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Edgewater Park, Cleveland Botanical Gardens, or watching a Guardians MLB baseball game at Progressive Field or a Browns NFL football game at FirstEnergy Stadium. Visitors can also tour the restored William G. Mather steamship through the Great Lakes Science Center.

The area offers many unique restaurants and pubs, including Merwin’s Wharf, where guests can make reservations to dine in an igloo.
 
Cleveland Metropolitan School District is the second largest in the state. Covering 79 square miles, the district offers 68 schools for K-8 grades and 39 high schools. The district has a matriculation rate of 80.1 percent, claiming the fastest growing graduation rate in the state.
 
Housing in Cleveland offers a mix of historic Greek revival architecture, as well as Colonial and craftsman/bungalows. It also features many modern suburban homes.

Charleston

Britt

Located in north-central Iowa, the city of Britt prides itself as a tight-knit community with a knack for hospitality and fellowship. Once a meager stop on the Chicago, Milwaukee, and St. Paul rail lines, Britt officially became a city in 1881. Today, more than 2,000 residents call Britt home. Key attractions include the Hancock County Agricultural Museum, an extensive collection of restored farm machinery and tools dating back to the 1840s; the Armstrong House—a massive Victorian house built for a Norwegian immigrant who settled in Britt; the Britt Draft Horse Show, which features top-rated Belgian, Percheron, Clydesdale, and Shire performance horses; and the National Hobo Museum, which showcases personal collections of famous American hobos, including Steam Train Maury, the Pennsylvania Kid, Connecticut Slim, the Hard Rock Kid, Frisco Jack, and others. During the warm summer months, residents flock to the Britt Family Aquatic Center for swimming and water slides, take in a round at Britt Golf Course, and attend the popular Hancock County Fair. For a one-day road trip, Britt residents can reach several regional cities in a couple of hours by car, including Des Moines, Iowa; Minneapolis, Minnesota; and Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Chickasha

Chickasha is located 42 miles southwest of Oklahoma City. Historically rich, many of the city’s buildings are listed on the National Register of Historic Places, including the Rock Island Train Depot, Verden Separate School, and Grady County Courthouse. Wide open spaces allow plentiful outdoor fun. The Chickasha Parks and Recreation Department spans more than 2,000 acres. Hike Chisholm Trail, once used as a cattle route after the Civil War. Swim and fish at Shannon Springs Park, or camp and picnic at Lake Chickasha. The newly renovated Chickasha Sports Complex contains 15 baseball/softball fields, 11 soccer fields, three football fields and a cross country course. View a live performance at Washita Theater, home of the Chickasha community theater group. Tour the Grady County Museum, observing pioneer artifacts, historical memorabilia from the Rock Island Railroad, and World War II relics from the W&B Flying School. Don’t miss annual community traditions, including the Wings & Wheels Fly-In and Car Show, held at the Chickasha Municipal Airport every Father’s Day weekend. Each fall, the Rock Island Arts Festival offers a variety of cultural entertainment, including art demonstrations, beer and wine tastings, and musical performances. Check out the Chickasha Festival of Lights, which takes place during the holiday season on 43 acres of Shannon Springs Park. Just 37 miles away, the Will Rogers World Airport offers direct flights to many destinations including Atlanta, Chicago, Orlando, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Seattle.

Brentwood

Known largely as an agricultural community just 55 miles east of San Francisco until the late 20th century, Brentwood, California, has become a bustling residential city experiencing rapid growth. Fortunately for produce lovers, the farming traditions have carried over, and the region is still known for its abundance of corn and stone fruits like peaches and cherries. And did we mention the wine? Nearby award-winning wineries like Bloomfield, Tamayo, and Hannah Nicole have become a staple of the area. Golf enthusiasts can spend a day on the links at the Shadow Lakes Golf Club and the Deer Valley Golf Club, both of which feature incredible views of Mt. Diablo. For art and entertainment lovers, the Brentwood Art Society sponsors the annual Art, Wine, and Jazz Festival, the Artists Open Studio Tour, and open mic nights, while the Brentwood Theater Company offers regular Broadway performances. So grab a seat (and a wine glass) and enjoy what Brentwood has to offer.

Bluefield

Nestled along the Ridge and Valley Region of the Appalachian Mountains, Bluefield offers endless possibilities for outdoor recreation and exploration. Located more than 2,600 feet above sea level, Bluefield boasts unusually cool summer temperatures and proudly refers to itself as “Nature’s Air-Conditioned City.” This moderate climate provides the perfect backdrop to enjoy the annual Lemonade Festival, experience live music at the Bluefield Blues Festival, and catch a Bluefield Blue Jays game at Bowen Field. Known as a football town, Bluefield’s Mitchell Stadium was voted America’s Best High School Football Stadium by USA Today High School Sports. Residents enjoy easy access to several parks and playgrounds, including 14 miles of walking and biking trails. For only $2, residents can take a ride on the restored Riderunner Train through Lotito City Park. Historic Downtown Bluefield offers several family friendly restaurants and shops featuring local artisans, including the Landmark Antique Mall, along with 250 residential homes listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Bluefield provides a safe and welcoming community, and enjoys one of the lowest crime rates in the region. Conveniently located near highways and interstates, Bluefield is less than a day’s drive from the eastern seaboard, as well as major cities like Charlotte and Pittsburgh.

Broken Arrow

Located in northeast Oklahoma, Broken Arrow offers small-town charm and a relaxed, suburban lifestyle. Residents enjoy low crime rates, excellent schools, affordable housing, and a multitude of parks and attractions. Take in a show at the Broken Arrow Performing Arts Center or Community Playhouse, then check out the Rose District for shopping, arts, and entertainment. Nature lovers can explore 41 city park facilities, including splash pads, skate parks, and a 3-mile walking trail in the Ray Harral Nature Center. Ebensburg

Cambria County, Pennsylvania, is home to the metropolitan community of Johnstown along with several boroughs including Westmont, Northern Cambria, Elim, and Belmont, to name a few. 

The county, with a population of 126,421, offers the amenities of a larger suburban area with the charm of a rural community. Cambria County attracts people of all ages and demographics thanks in part to its 5 colleges and universities and many manufacturing facilities – its primary industry – including Johnstown Welding & Fabrication Industries, Lockheed Martin, and DRS Laurel Technologies. Johnstown Area Regional Industries (JARI) is one of the economic development engines for Cambria County and collaborates with the Commissioners to help attract, grow, and retain businesses of all sizes in Cambria County. 

If it’s the great outdoors that’s calling your name, there are plentiful options – Prince Gallitzin State Park, Laurel Ridge State Park, or one of the many playgrounds or beautiful outdoor spaces. And, if it’s the big city vibe you’re craving, Pittsburg is just a 90-minute drive from downtown Johnstown. 

Bloomfield

Great things come in small towns! Davis County is home to the most involved and supportive community in the Midwest: Bloomfield, Iowa. Bloomfield is home to many sights, sounds and experiences that you simply can’t find anywhere else. Davis County is home to the most Amish families in the state of Iowa, and two large Amish stores, T-Corner Woodworking and Yoder Kountry Korner, offer a wide selection of Amish-made, hardwood furniture, quilts, crafts and other items. Want to get outdoors? Bag a 6-point buck (home to one of the largest in the USA), relax by the water with your family, enjoy a relaxing get-away at one of the local hotels or campgrounds, discover the county fair and festivals, relish our delicious food places and remember how life ought to be.

If you're a remote worker, Bloomfield is currently offering tax abatement incentives to the tune of $10,000 if you build a home in the region.

Meet the Amish of Davis County!

Davis County is home to the most Amish families in the state of Iowa. The Amish community in Davis County is located west of Bloomfield in the Drakesville and West Grove communities. The community consists of well-kept farms and thriving businesses.

Currently there are about 1,400 Old Order Amish living in Davis County. The first Amish family purchased farmland south of Drakesville in Davis County in 1971 after scouting around numerous communities for several years. Lower farmland prices and people who seemed friendly and accepting were draws to Davis County. Other reasons also led the Amish to choose Davis County. A quality hospital within driving distance with horse and buggy was essential. At that time Bloomfield also offered bus service and there were horse sales at the local sale barn.

Today, there about 300 Amish families in the county. By the fall of 2019, seventeen schools were educating about 400 children in grades one through eight. In 1972, after years of struggle, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled in the case of Wisconsin vs Yoder that the Amish had the right to educate their children according to their religious beliefs without interference from the government.

The first Amish families that moved to the county made their living by farming, but they soon realized the soil in much of Davis County was not as fertile as the soil they had cultivated in other parts of the country. Gradually, family members began creating businesses especially where they saw a niche that was compatible with their craftsman skills and way of life. Today only about a dozen families make their living entirely by farming. There are over 90 businesses listed on the Amish Business Map that can be downloaded from the website or can be obtained at the Davis County Welcome Center on North Highway 63 in Bloomfield.

Chattanooga

Surrounded by mountains, rivers and lakes, Chattanooga offers a little bit of everything - the fastest internet service in the western hemisphere, a thriving innovation business district and a booming downtown along the Tennessee River brimming with shops, dining and history. Awarded Outdoor Magazine’s “Best Town Ever” title for two years, to say there’s a lot of remote worker interest in the Scenic City would be an understatement.

Located southeast of Terre Haute in the Bloomington metropolitan area, Bloomfield bursts with small-town charm and southern hospitality. Bloomfield Town Park features a turn-of-the-century bandstand, picnic facilities, basketball courts, and playground equipment. 
Watch a live performance at Shawnee Summer Theatre, Indiana’s longest continuously running summer playhouse. Walk across the Richland-Plummer Creek Covered Bridge, built in 1883 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Called one of the best small-town festivals in southern Indiana, check out Bloomfield’s annual Apple Festival and Parade. Held the first weekend in October, festival activities include carnival rides, food, and craft booths, live music, a wiffle-ball tournament, pedal-tractor pulls, a pet show, a quilt auction, art exhibits, and corn hole tournaments. 
Take a train ride over Richland Creek and enjoy picturesque views as you cross Tulip Trestle Viaduct Train Bridge, constructed in the 20th century by the Indiana Southern Railway. 
Participate in a variety of seasonal community events, including Christmas on the Square and holiday lighting at Bloomfield Town Park. 
Perfect for busy professionals, Bloomfield is located less than 75 miles from the Indianapolis International Airport, which offers direct flights to many popular destinations including Atlanta, Boston, Los Angeles, Orlando, Denver, and Chicago.

Claremore

Located in Northeastern Oklahoma, Claremore is part of the Tulsa metropolitan area. Nestled in the foothills of the Ozark Mountains, Claremore offers diverse cultural events, a charming historic district, and plentiful outdoor recreation opportunities. 

Tour the Will Rogers Museum and view the world’s largest collection of his works. Enjoy a dog show, tractor pull, demolition derby, concert, or equestrian event at Claremore’s Expo Center, which also hosts popular annual events such as the Rogers County Fair and the Green Country Classic Ranch Rodeo. Visit the Lilac District in historic downtown Claremore, exploring the Belvidere Mansion and the Claremore Museum of History.
