Texarkana: FUN FACT

Texarkana, Arkansas, uniquely shares its name and municipal government with its twin city, Texarkana, Texas. The city is split down the middle by State Line Avenue, a street that also acts as the state line between Arkansas and Texas. This makes it possible for residents and visitors to literally stand in two states at once! Moreover, Texarkana is the only U.S. city located in two states aside from Bristol, Virginia, and Bristol, Tennessee, which also share a similar setup.

Affordable Cost of Living: Texarkana features a cost of living that is below the national average, making it an attractive option for individuals and families looking to stretch their budgets further. Housing, in particular, tends to be more affordable compared to many other parts of the United States.

Unique Geographic Location: One of the most unique aspects of living in Texarkana is its location, straddling the border of Arkansas and Texas. This provides residents with the unusual benefit of easily accessing the amenities, job markets, and recreational opportunities of two states. For instance, you can live in Arkansas and work in Texas, potentially taking advantage of different tax structures and employment opportunities.

Small Town Charm with Access to Big City Amenities: Despite its small-town feel, Texarkana offers a variety of cultural and recreational activities often found in larger cities.
