Baton Rouge is situated on the east bank of the Mississippi River. College sports fans know the city as the home of the Louisiana State University Tigers. Games at the LSU stadium are one of the top draws to the campus, but so is seeing Mike the Mascot, the live rescued tiger who is housed at an enclosure on campus. Other top attractions in Baton Rouge include the USS Kidd, a dry-docked destroyer museum, the LSU Rural Life Museum, Magnolia Mound Plantation, the Baton Rouge Zoo, and Blue Bayou Water Park. Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport is the second largest airport in Louisiana and is served by American, Delta and United Airlines. Passengers can be connected to the world through the major hubs in Atlanta, Houston, Charlotte and Dallas-Ft. Worth.  

Ithaca

Located in south-central New York on the south end of Cayuga Lake in the Finger Lakes Region, Ithaca is perhaps most recognized as the home of the world-renowned Cornell University. Warm summers provide plenty of opportunity for outdoor activities, such as hiking, biking, kayaking, swimming, boating, fishing and other outdoor sports. Ithaca gets an average of 63 inches of snow per year, providing an opportunity for downhill skiing, sledding and snowboarding, and many people still visit the beautiful waterfalls even in the winter.

The Ithaca City School District system features 12 schools, and is consistently recognized as a top public school district for music education. Ithaca City School District boasts an 88 percent matriculation rate among graduating seniors. Students have the opportunity in high school to take advancement placement classes to prepare for college.

Ithaca offers a few planned housing subdivisions, but most homes include a mix of 19th to early 20th century Victorian, Greek Revival, Craftsman, Colonial Revival and Tudor. The downtown area boasts a robust mix of eclectic shops, restaurants and pubs.
