Logansport, Indiana might not seem like a place where you would hear 30 languages or eat authentic Mexican food but it is! This is a community that’s embracing diversity and finding ways to support people from all over.
Take the Dual Language Immersion Program at Landis Elementary School. When Tyson Foods opened a factory in Logansport, the school system saw a 400% increase in non-English speaking students. This community saw an opportunity to do something special. They trained teachers and created a program for elementary school students to learn in both English and Spanish throughout the school day.
Logansport is also home to the oldest Art Association in Indiana, founded in 1911. We learned that the arts are definitely a part of everyday life in this community. As part of the relocation program, movers can choose lessons in painting, pottery, woodworking, leather-making, macrame, and more.
There’s so much to learn in Logansport - a new skill or a new language - and they’d love to welcome you.
