Life In Indianapolis

If you're passionate about live music, Indianapolis is the perfect place to find some truly unforgettable shows. I've been attending concerts here for over four years, and have loved discovering all the ways to experience the city’s diverse music scene. Whether it’s catching outdoor shows like Rock the Ruins or exploring local venues, I know Indy always has something for me!

With basketball season just around the corner, there is nothing better to do on a Friday or Saturday night than catch a Pacers game at Gainbridge Fieldhouse. Start the night by grabbing some food and drink at one of the many bars/restaurants within walking distance before the game and experiencing a night full of hoops in the Hoosier state (in 49 other states it's just basketball). Whether you are looking for a a fun new date night or an event for the whole family, Pacers games do not disappoint!

Two decades ago my wife and I made the decision to relocate from the northeast to Indiana. Both of us grew up in the northeast, most of our family is located there and we knew no one in Indianapolis. The motivation for the move was to achieve a better quality of life. What we discovered far exceeded our expectations! Yes it's true, the cost of living is much more reasonable, especially when it comes to rent or purchasing a home. That's only the tip of the iceberg. Our average daily commute to work takes a fraction of the time it used to. You can beat the weather! Spring starts in mid March where a few days will reach the 70's. By mid April you will have temperatures in the 80's and the summer is warm, but very tolerable. If you enjoy spending time outdoors and dining, that will extend until the end of October into the first weeks of November. The truly cold days of winter really only last from mid December until the end of February. Snow is minimal with only 10-15 inches a season in the past few years. Coming from the northeast it was always depressing how early it gets dark. In Indianapolis, it will stay light out past 9:30 PM in the summer months! Combine all that with the many restaurants, parks, sports venues, bike trails, museums, innovative businesses and you have a great place to live. What really makes the community so special are the people. Indianapolis allows people to be who they are. Hoosiers are eager to see each other succeed and the community prosper.

Victory Field is where the Indianapolis Indians call home. Whether you are looking for a family friendly activity, something to do with friends or coworkers, or just a flat out good time, check out a game! Bonus points if you go on a Tuesday and take advantage of the Tuesday Dollar Menu on a variety of concession items. ⚾️
