Stockton Unified School District (California) is offering new teachers up to $10,000 in signing bonus. The district serves more than 35,000 students across 55 schools.

Dr. Michelle Rodriguez, SUSD's new superintendent starting in the 2023-24 school year, has made an 8-year commitment to the district. In her introductory letter to the community, she addresses the staff by saying:

As we move forward, I am committed to supporting you in your professional growth and ensuring that you have the resources and support needed to provide a high-quality education to every student. Your input, creativity, and collaboration will be essential in shaping our action plans and policies. To achieve educational excellence, we will focus on implementing evidence-based instructional practices and fostering a culture of high expectations for our incredible students."
