The Bellevue Police Department is offering a signing bonus up to $16,000 for new lateral officer candidates. BPD serves a population of approximately 150,000 across a 33-square mile area. The department has over 186 commissioned personnel, along with 47 non-commission personnel.
According to the Bellevue Police Department website:
An experienced (lateral) officer is defined as a Police Officer: who possess a valid and current peace officer certificate from a state training commission that is recognized by the State of Washington State Criminal Justice Training Commission who has at least two consecutive (2) years of police experience, with no more than six months break in service from when you left your last police position to the time of submitting your application with the Bellevue Police Department.
