A recent Homes.com article highlights how Tulsa Remote alum Claire Tomm and her family made the move from Wisconsin to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 2021. Claire shares that she and her husband have found community, new opportunities, and new spaces to enjoy family time in Tulsa. Launched in 2018 by the George Kaiser Family Foundation, Tulsa Remote offers $10,000 to eligible remote workers who relocate to the city. Since then, more than 4,000 people have made the move, with 80% choosing to stay beyond their first year. Tulsa Remote's impact has extended far beyond the program, though. With a cost of living that's 7.1% below the national average, Tulsa has attracted more than 42,000 new residents since 2020 and diversified its economy across industries like aerospace, healthcare, and finance.
As more cities compete for remote workers, Tulsa stands out, not just for attracting people, but for building a community they want to stay in.
