Mr. J’s Barbecue is a family-owned Southern barbecue spot on the Arkansas side of Texarkana, set at 6104 Mount Olive Drive where most of us pull in by car. Plates get stacked with brisket, ribs, and the usual sides, and it works well for easy dine-in or a quick carry-out run.

Brisket is often the move here, and it pairs nicely with whatever sides are calling. Weekend openings can vary, so hours usually get checked before a visit. On barbecue nights, it’s common to rotate between Mr. J’s, Naaman’s BBQ, and Big Jake’s to cover the cravings.
