The Birthplace of the Coca-Cola Bottle

In 1915, the Root Glass Company in Terre Haute won a national competition to design the iconic contour glass Coca-Cola bottle. Today, the city fiercely protects this manufacturing heritage, with massive murals, local historical markers, and hometown pride celebrating the globally recognized industrial design that was born right here on the Wabash.
