Situated on the western edge of Lake Erie, Toledo offers a variety of family friendly entertainment. Visit the Toledo Zoo and see more than 10,000 animals belonging to 720 different species. While you’re there, be sure to check out the aerial adventure course, feed a giraffe, explore the ProMedica Museum of Natural History, and gaze at ocean wonders in the on-site aquarium. Next, take the family to Imagination Station, located in downtown Toledo. Featuring hundreds of interactive science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) exhibits, Imagination Station also offers a 20-foot high-wire cycle course. Looking for something a little more grown-up to do? Admire 30,000 works of art at the world-renowned Toledo Art Museum. Admission is free and you can enjoy many exhibitions and collections, including paintings, decorative arts, sculptures, and glass pieces. If outdoor adventure is more your style, Toledo’s proximity to Lake Erie and the Maumee River allow for ample water adventures. The city also boasts 61 various recreational activities, including hiking and biking trails, as well as sporting events for its minor-league baseball team, the Toledo Mud Hens, and its professional hockey team, the Walleyes. End the day with a show at one of several live theatre venues, or drink your way through the 419 Ale Trail, which features 29 different craft breweries.

Toledo earned the nickname “The Glass City,” after many glass manufacturers infiltrated the city in the late 1800s. U.S. News and World Report recently voted Toledo the “second best place for outdoor lovers.” Known for its annual Jeep Fest, more than 65,000 visitors from 37 states and several countries attended last year’s event.
