As one of Michigan’s Downriver communities, Lincoln Park is located just 15 miles south of Detroit. In addition to its close proximity to the major city, including its Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport, Lincoln Park is known for its wide array of parks and recreational facilities. The Detroit River is just a mile away, perfect for hiking, biking, fishing, and boating. Historic Council Point Park offers a variety of family fun activities and boasts historical significance as the site where in 1763, Chief Pontiac of the Ottawa tribe held council with all of the indigenous tribes of what is now Michigan. Want to strap on some skates? Lincoln Park Community Center and Ice Arena hosts numerous hockey and skating events as well as the annual Festival on Ice. What a cool city!

In the 1960s, Lincoln Park was the birthplace of seminal punk rock group MC5. The group formed from their daily gatherings blasting music from a car radio in a local White Castle parking lot.
