Historic Plaza Theatre
Since opening its doors in 1934, the Historic Plaza Theatre has been at the heart of Glasgow’s arts and entertainment scene. Originally built by local entrepreneur Bruce Aspley, the theater has welcomed generations of visitors for movies, live performances, and community events. Over the years, legendary performers such as Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn, Minnie Pearl, the Carter Family, Flatt and Scruggs, and Porter Wagoner have all appeared on its stage.
Today, the beautifully restored theater remains one of Glasgow’s most beloved gathering places. Whether you’re attending a concert, a local production, a classic film screening, or a community event beneath its signature twinkling-star ceiling, the Plaza offers a unique blend of history, culture, and small-town charm that residents are proud to call their own. The venue seats more than 1,000 guests and regularly hosts national, regional, and local performers throughout the year.
For newcomers, the Plaza Theatre is more than a historic landmark—it’s a place where neighbors come together, memories are made, and Glasgow’s community spirit shines.
