An indicator that Spring is close!

These 2 ducks visit my yard every year, right before the Spring season. I love the daily interactions with them. At this point, I have named them: Johnny and June.

My fiance and I moved from Illinois to Somerset KY. I am born and raised a Chicagoan while he was born in Indiana and It might just be the best decision I'll ever make! 💖 Here's what we have experienced thus far in the month that we have been here

5. Community Vibes: Experience a tight-knit community where neighbors become friends! 🤗 Even shopping locally at the local farms .... talk about fresh produce, veggies and meat!! Good for out budget and our tummies!!!

6. Lower Cost of Living: Often, country living means more affordable housing and everyday expenses! 💰No crazy grocery taxes!! love love it!!!

7. Slower Pace: Embrace a more relaxed lifestyle that allows you to savor each moment! ☀️ And less likely to have a heart attack because it so much less stressful here!!

Moving to the mountains can open up a world of new experiences and happiness! 🌈✨ If you're considering the leap, take it. It's so worth it!!

I had an absolute blast this winter in Kentucky. Having the ability to snowboard in the winter and kayak in the Summer is a dream.

I have hiked many trails, started fishing again, snowboarded, skateboarded, started Tennis and Pickleball, went camping, kayaking, shot some guns but no animals, hung out with some raccoons and so much more.

I even worked a little bit. This opportunity gave me the chance to recalibrate, try new things and get a work life balance.

One of the things people discover after moving to Eastern Kentucky is something locals call the “little winters.”

Even after spring arrives, the mountains sometimes send a few short cold snaps. For generations, folks have named them after what’s blooming at the time:
