Description

Are you looking for a sophisticated river town that inspires? At the heart of America's inland waterways, Paducah, Kentucky is a confluence of cultural heritage and creativity where art is a way of life and inclusiveness is a core value. One of nine UNESCO creative cities in the United States, Paducah is a thriving arts community that offers southern hospitality with a midwestern smile.

Paducah is close to anywhere you want to be. Halfway between Nashville and St. Louis on I-24, Paducah's central geographic location makes it an ideal hub for travel by car to bourbon country, the Kentucky Derby, or wherever you may need to go. Barkley Regional Airport, which recently opened a new terminal, provides daily jet service to Charlotte, North Carolina, connecting Paducah to the rest of the world.

Paducah is filled with great neighbors…and great neighborhoods! High-speed internet, affordable living, and historic neighborhoods are the hallmark of Paducah’s charm. Find your next home in one of 50 neighborhoods to choose from across the city. With excellent city and county schools, including the Paducah Innovation Hub and a new McCracken County High School, families know their children will receive top-quality educational opportunities in Paducah. Three higher education institutions provide award-winning academic programs, with West Kentucky Community and Technical College (WKCTC) offering tuition waivers for Paducah and McCracken County graduates. The Paducah School of Art and Design, a branch of WKCTC, provides a wealth of opportunities in arts education through hands-on learning in a state-of-the-art facility, and Murray State University offers nursing, engineering, and more at their Paducah campus. With Paducah acting a regional hub to the surrounding 17 counties across three states, it is home to two world-class medical facilities that boast an industry award-winning heart center and much more.

Paducah was made for entertainment. Home to over a dozen annual festivals and parades across the city, Paducah serves up world class food and entertainment and is filled with music of every genre. Spend your evenings exploring Paducah’s historic downtown, outlined by over 60 hand-painted murals on the river’s floodwall. This charming district is home to 5 museums, 38 stores, and 15 restaurants. You can catch a play at the Market House Theatre, a symphony performance at the Carson Center for the Performing Arts, or a film festival at the local art house movie theatre, Maiden Alley Cinema. Satisfy the foodie in you with one of Paducah’s top tier eateries, or bring out your inner artist with an art or theatre workshop.

Paducah’s recreation scene is one to remember. Parks and trails offer walking, biking, swimming, and skating opportunities city-wide for pets and people alike. A short drive will take you into the wilderness in nearby Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area and Shawnee National Forest, where residents enjoy a myriad of outdoor activities year round including boating, swimming, hiking, biking, camping and rock climbing.
