Mitchell County takes great pride in our education system which works together to create one interconnected network of opportunities. From infants to higher education, Mitchell County strives to create a diverse, well-established, and nationally renowned education system.

Mitchell County has a rich history of celebrating both the arts and our culture. Our culture embraces agriculture, our rich indigenous history, and the arts throughout our community events, like festivals and parades, youth programs, and local organizations, like our Leadership Mitchell County program with over 300 graduates. We know to fully embrace arts and culture, we must recognize and respect the past, present and future of Mitchell County!

Mitchell County is a mecca for recreational opportunities, known for fantastic hunting and fishing. Glen Elder State Park and Waconda Lake attract thousands of visitors each year for camping, boating, and fishing. From golfing at Beloit Country Club, Tipton’s sand greens, Cawker City’s synthetic turf greens and Chautauqua Disc Golf to establishing mountain biking and hiking trails, we continue to build a network of recreational options, all while maintaining beautiful city parks and breathtaking landscapes, sunrises, and sunsets.

Mitchell County has worked diligently and collaboratively to create a comprehensive medical network in our communities. We know healthcare spans far beyond hospitals and doctors, which is why we provide many different services that ensure our residents are receiving the nutrition, transportation, wellness services and support necessary for everyday health.

Here, amidst our blue hills and blue waters, discover collaborative, forward-thinking communities beaming with pride. Experience a lifestyle where neighbors become family, coworkers become friends, and the possibilities are endless.
