Our Move to Salina

I was born and raised in South Dakota and attended Mount Marty University in Yankton, SD where I met my fiancé! Going into college I never thought I would be moving out of South Dakota and away from my family but my fiancé was from Kansas. After considering both options, we decided that moving to Kansas would be the smartest option for us following graduation and our wedding! Coming from a town of 300 to a much larger city, Salina, I look forward to all the new connections I will make and the variety of organizations I will have the opportunity to be a part of! We love the recreational activities that Salina offers as well, our favorite being Marty Bender Nature Area.

This program helped us out in so many other ways than just the funding. The team worked with us to find our first apartment, which was so helpful as there were many options! Our biggest piece of advice is to use the relocation packet provided and reach out to those realtors for rental opportunities as well- we found many great options through them that were not listed on apartment websites. The team was so supportive and helped us through each step of the process as well as checking in on our progress which showed us that they truly want to invest in their community! We feel so thankful that we were able to be a part of this amazing program!
