Russellville is home to a remarkable piece of outlaw history. On March 20, 1868, Jesse James and members of the James-Younger Gang robbed the Nimrod Long Banking Company in downtown Russellville, one of the gang’s earliest bank robberies. The original building still stands near 6th and Main, where visitors can see a historical marker and connect with a story that has remained part of Russellville’s identity for more than 150 years.
