Ponca City has an incredibly rich history and the Marland Family is a considerable part of that history. The 55 room Marland Mansion was built in 1928 at a cost of 5.5 million by E.W. Marland, the legendary founder of Marland Oil, who once controlled a tenth of the oil reserves in the world. From gold-leaf ceilings to hand-carved wood and even a leather-lined elevator, every room reflects the ambitious spirit of the oil era.
The Marland Mansion is truly one of those places in Ponca City you truly have to see to believe. The grounds are just as impressive as the house, offering a peaceful spot for an afternoon walk or a guided tour.
