When we were preparing to move to Fond du Lac, we had so many questions—not just about finding a house, but about what everyday life would actually look like for our family.

With five kids, we wanted to know about schools, activities, youth sports, opportunities for teenagers, childcare, healthcare, shopping, and what there was to do as a family. We also wondered how difficult it would be to build a community and make friends in a new place.

One of the things that stood out to us during the process was how welcoming and helpful everyone was. Having people willing to answer questions, connect us with local resources, and help us navigate things that were unfamiliar made a huge difference.

For anyone considering a move, I would say don’t be afraid to ask questions and reach out before you arrive. Finding out about the things that matter most to your family ahead of time can make the transition feel much less overwhelming.

We came into this move with a lot of unknowns, but we’re excited to start building our life here and discovering everything Fond du Lac has to offer.
