Aztec Ruins National Monument

About 15 minutes from Farmington in Aztec, NM, Aztec Ruins National Monument preserves a major Ancestral Puebloan settlement built in the 1100s. The site features multi-story masonry structures, original wooden roof beams still in place after 900 years, and a fully reconstructed Great Kiva, one of the few in the country. Managed by the National Park Service and part of the Chaco Culture UNESCO World Heritage Site.
