Verified Mover
It's hard to believe that we're going on 4 months here in Kentucky. Not a day goes by that we're not so grateful we made the move. A few things we're enjoying about our EKY location:
1. My chicken flock is flourishing here. Grass actually lives here year-round (that was not the case for our old high-elevation mini farm in Colorado) and the birds have plenty of insects and greens in their diets.
2. We've been pleasantly surprised by all the farm-to-table themed restaurants in the Red River Gorge region. They serve up quality food, much of the ingredients sourced from local farms. The mixed drinks are top-notch!
3. We've had the chance to explore the surrounding region a bit more, including a drive down to Banner Elk, NC for skiing and hiking. We have an almost overwhelming list of road trips within 6 hours of our homestead. The drives here are beautiful!
We are adapting to the rain, it takes a little getting used to. But hearing the peepers (frogs) already signaling the end of winter is a delight.
