Lost River Cave sits less than two miles from Bowling Green's city center and offers something unusual: a guided boat tour through an underground river system. The cave's natural entrance feeds a blue hole pool and was historically used as a speakeasy and dance hall in the Prohibition era.
Today it's managed as a nature preserve with walking trails, a butterfly garden, and year-round cave tours that maintain a steady 57-degree temperature inside. It's an accessible introduction to the karst landscape that defines this region and connects to Mammoth Cave National Park 25 miles to the north.
