We love to explore housing possibilities in every community that we visit. Here are four of our favorite houses that got us talking:

Check out this porch!

Owensboro, KY

Experience Southern living at its finest in this luxurious and beautifully maintained 175-year-old home located right in the heart of Owensboro.

Despite the central location close to the Ohio River, this 1-acre property offers tons of space for entertaining, while mature trees provide plenty of privacy and serenity. The home’s 6 bedrooms and 4.5 baths feature beautiful hardwoods throughout, while the exterior includes 4 porches, multiple carports, a barn, and even a mini parking lot.

Other amenities include formal living and dining rooms, a stunning kitchen with modern updates, large family room, and a basement with its own speakeasy bar.

Kentucky is home to bourbon country and this house lives up to the name. In fact, the Medley Distilling family, also known as the Bourbon Barons of Daviess County, once lived on this historic property.

Not only is the house available, workers with remote-friendly jobs who relocate to Owensboro are eligible for a $6,800 incentive package, including a $5,000 stipend, 3-month membership to the Owensboro Health Healthpark, 1-year Chamber Young Professional Membership, free banjo lessons, and more!

Farmhouse with acreage

Knightstown, IN

Live your best country life in this 5,200+ square-foot historic home, complete with a 6-stall horse barn, fenced-in pasture, detached garage, and sprawling 6 acres!

Invite guests to hang out on the huge deck or in the heated pole barn. Take a dip in the pool on Indiana’s hot summer days and relax in the hot tub on the breezy nights. This property truly has it all…and that’s just the outside!

Inside the home, enjoy hardwood floors, large soaking tubs, multiple fireplaces, 3 bedrooms, and a finished attic with 3 bonus rooms (great for playrooms, office space, a yoga studio, etc.). Speaking of office space, imagine settling into work in the guest house with its wood-burning stove.

If you’re a remote worker ready to make that guest house your own, Henry County will even pay you $5,000 to relocate to the area, in addition to a bunch of other perks, like a free gym membership, $200 wine and dine pass, and a state and local parks pass. Henry County offers a little something for everyone — fireworks and Friday night lights, horseback riding, concerts, wineries, and more!

In the Appalachain Foothills

Pikeville, KY

If the thought of living in a treehouse-like home surrounded by woods—but also with a massive library, outdoor swimming pool, and tons of greenspace—sounds appealing (if not unbelievable), we found the perfect spot for you in Eastern Kentucky.

This one-of-a-kind compound in Pikeville boasts 3,800 square feet of living space on more than 5 acres in the Appalachian Mountain foothills. The 3-bedroom house comes fully equipped with a 14,000-gallon, in-ground Grecian pool, two garages, and a legit library with floor-to-ceiling shelving and a rolling ladder.

Recent updates to this move-in ready space include cherry oak hardwood flooring throughout, as well as custom-made cabinetry, quartz countertops, and stainless-steel appliances.

This unique home and property in Eastern Kentucky can be yours for the price of a 1-bedroom condo in the Bay Area. Even better: Remote workers who relocate to Pikeville are eligible for an incentive package including $5,000 and other perks.

New Castle in Henry County, IN

New Castle, IN

Love everything about basketball? With the Hoosier Gym, Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame, and the world’s largest high school field house, Henry County is “where basketball lives.” But it could also be where you live when you take advantage of this $5,000 relocation offer.

Moving to this small-knit community offers many amenities, like this early 1900s two-story home. The house features modern renovations, while preserving charming historic features, like the entryway, staircase, pocket doors, and woodwork. With 3 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a home office, and a spacious backyard, there’s plenty of space to make it your own.

The remodeled kitchen, with new cabinetry, Corian countertops, a breakfast bar, a coffee/serving bar, state-of-the-art JennAir appliances, and three types of lighting is a home chef’s dream!

Whether you enjoy sports, arts, wineries, breweries, or the great outdoors, you’ll love calling Henry County and this Indiana Avenue house your home.
