FUN FACT


American soldier and showman William Cody, best known as “Buffalo Bill,” called North Platte his home, and from there started his famous “Buffalo Bill’s Wild West” show, an outdoor attraction that toured all over the country. In 1878, Cody purchased a 160-acre ranch west of the city, and today the property serves as the Buffalo Bill Ranch State Historical Park.
