History buffs will appreciate this unique claim to fame. In 1866, the Reno Gang, led by brothers John and Simeon Reno, successfully robbed a train moving cash and express packages. This daring incident occurred just outside of Seymour near Hangman's Crossing and is considered the first train robbery west of the Mississippi River.
